Hlalem or Vermicelli are pieces of pasta shaped by hand in the shape of a pinion (bondoq).
An excellent Tunisian dish that is often eaten during Ramadan and winter.
The hlalems are part of the Tunisian culinary heritage and are traditionally prepared in the form of hot soup with tomatoes, onions, starchy foods (chickpeas, lentils or peas) and meat (dried or fresh).
