Lavender is a flower recognizable by its powerful smell and its purplish color.

Use:

In the kitchen:

Lavender flowers are used to divinely flavor roasted meats, sauces, sugars, jams and other nougats, ice creams, fresh cheeses and pastries.

It is found in many forms for culinary aromatic use: lavender vinegar, lavender confit and jam, lavender syrup, also for making apricot jam, lavender biscuits, etc.

And how can you resist a lavender crème brûlée?

Internal use

The flowering tops, fresh or dried in the open air and in the shade, have antiseptic, stimulating, insecticidal and sudorific properties.

To be used as an infusion (flowers) in case of respiratory tract infections (fumigations).

As an infusion to drink, lavender can help digestion, it is diuretic and slightly sedative (headaches, insomnia).

For external use

The decoction is used to relieve bruises, sprains. Pour into a bath to strengthen and calm. As a mouthwash, the decoction purifies the breath.

Virtues:

Lavender has antiseptic, bactericidal, disinfectant, antispasmodic and carminative properties.

Drinking an infusion one to three times a day can act on bloating and gastric problems.

In addition, diffused in the air, lavender helps fight breathing disorders, such as colds, coughs, sinusitis, etc. It lowers fever and relieves throat irritation and asthma.

In case of burns, stings, sunburn or wounds, lavender, thanks to its disinfecting and healing power, can be applied directly to the skin.

It is also an effective remedy to reduce eczema and acne problems.

Simply macerate 100 grams of lavender flowers in a liter of white vinegar for 8 days to obtain a preparation which, mixed with eau de toilette, can be applied to the skin.

Lavender, as an emmenagogue plant, regulates and facilitates the menstrual cycle.

Not recommended :

Lavender not recommended for women during pregnancy, pregnant or breastfeeding.

Preservation:

They can be stored for several months in closed stainless steel or plastic containers in a cool place, away from light.
