The Chia seed is a very small, smooth and shiny seed, black or light gray in color and oval in shape. It comes from Chia (Salvia hispanica).

Chia seeds are used in cooking for all occasions and in almost all preparations.

They can be eaten whole, soaked or even ground.

You can sprinkle it as you wish: mixed salads, fromage blanc, compote, smoothie, puddings...

The virtues:

Consumption:

Small quantities are enough to prepare desserts or incorporate them into your dishes.

We advise you to consume between 10 to 25 g of Chia seeds per day (which is approximately equivalent to 1 or 2 tablespoons).

Contraindicated :

In case of allergy to plants of the Lamiaceae family (such as Mint, Thyme, Lavender, Sage, Basil, Rosemary, etc.)

In case of allergy to flax, sesame, sunflower seeds, etc.

In case of chronic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)

For people with prostate cancer

For people on anticoagulant or antiplatelet treatment

For people prone to hemorrhoids
